Logic Models
Vision, Goals & Strategy

"Change is not a destination, just as hope is not a strategy."

-Rudy Giuliani

Logic models are communication and planning tools. They are used to link project goals with objectives and measurable outcomes with each objective.

The logic model enables precise communication about:

  • the purposes of the project
  • the components of the project
  • the sequence of activities and output

The strongest programs begin by asking the question:

What is the situation or condition we wish to change?

Beginning with the big goal or vision for the program, rather than "what should we do?", encourages program planners to think outside the box and create more innovative programs.
